Welcome to Martin’s Lakes set in the Forêt de la Double area of the Dordogne. The Dordogne is a beautiful region of forests and rolling hills with some of the best vineyards in the world creating some of the finest wines.On our 80 acre site we can offer you two types of holiday:
There is a picturesque 7 acre Carp Specimen lake which is over 200 years old. You can bivvy down by the lake and take advantage of the shared chalet which offers basic amenities and cooking / relaxation facilities.
There is also a charming 3 bedroom gite with magnificent views over its own coarse fishing lake.
If you need any help or advice with your fishing, Greg Martin is always happy to help and is usually on site. We can also provide bait and some fishing equipment if necessary.
We are not exclusively aimed at fishing holidays, there are plenty of other things to do and see. Some people come to enjoy the lovely surroundings and take advantage of the peace and quiet and to have their own secluded holiday location. Artists, bird-watchers etc. also find it an ideal location to enjoy their hobby. There is also plenty of sight-seeing to be had in this Perigordian region as we are surrounded by vineyards, châteaux, historical towns etc.
It is easy to get here by air or by car – the airports of Bordeaux or Bergerac are approximately one hour away.
